Create favicon files and website icon assets for browser tabs and web apps.
How to create a website favicon
Choose an image or create a simple emoji design.
Preview the favicon and select a size and output format.
Download the generated PNG or ICO file.
Create a favicon from a logo or an emoji
Use an image such as a PNG logo, or build a simple symbol in the Emoji tab. Image sources are fitted inside a square while keeping their proportions. Inspect the small previews: a detailed logo may become hard to recognize at 16 or 32 pixels. A simple shape with clear spacing often reads better.
Choose PNG sizes or a multi-size ICO favicon
The PNG button saves the selected size. All Sizes downloads separate PNG files at 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 pixels; it is not a ZIP download. The ICO button creates one favicon.ico containing 16, 32 and 48 pixel versions. This tool works on one image or emoji design at a time.
Add the downloaded favicon to your site
Place the downloaded file in your own website and adapt the HTML link example to its actual filename and location. The example uses favicon.png, while a PNG download includes its size in the filename, so rename the file or update the link. Generating a favicon here does not publish it to your website. Rendering stays in your browser.
Website favicon questions
Can I create a favicon from an emoji?
Yes. The emoji editor can create a simple favicon design.
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. Favicon generation runs in your browser and selected images are not uploaded to IMGIUM's own servers.
Does All Sizes download a favicon ZIP?
No. It starts six separate PNG downloads. Your browser may ask whether to allow multiple downloads. Use the ICO button for a single file containing three icon sizes.
Why does the HTML example not match my PNG filename?
PNG downloads include the selected size, such as favicon-32x32.png. Rename that file to favicon.png or change the example link to the filename you actually upload to your site.
Need different icon sizes or source dimensions?
Use the ICO converter to choose which sizes go inside an ICO file, including larger sizes. Resize the source separately if you also need a general-purpose image at custom dimensions.
